On Sunday 1/09/2024 Giannis Antetokounmpo married his partner and mother of his three children, Maria, in Costa Navarino. The couple held a double ceremony on a beach in Costa Navarino as the NBA superstar is Orthodox and Mariah is Catholic.
The guests
The couple’s wedding was attended by important VIP guests from the field of sports and beyond. Some of them were LeBron James, Serena Williams, owners of the Milwaukee Bucks, as well as Giannis Antetokounmpo’s former teammates, Wesley Matthews and Jrue Holiday.

On Saturday, August 31, the couple organized a themed “Nigerian Party,” paying tribute to 29-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Nigerian ancestry. The guests dressed in traditional Nigerian costumes, adding a special cultural dimension to the event.
On the afternoon of Sunday, September 1st, the wedding reception was held in part of the hotel complex with 200 guests.

It is reported that guests were not allowed to have mobile phones or be accompanied by children. The rosé wine named after Maria
Giannis Antetokounmpo also launched the first wine at his wedding, the result of his partnership through the investment company Ante Inc. with the Greek wineries, in which it holds a 10% stake from 2022. It is a rosé label, which will bear the name of Maria Riddlespriger and, in addition to the conventional 750 ml bottle, will also be released in a magnum version .
