Developers from Yandex continue to expand the capabilities of the Alice voice assistant. Now she will be able to call the user’s smartphone by receiving the appropriate command through the “Station” or smart TV.

This feature will be useful if the smartphone is lost in the apartment, and you urgently need to go on business. Just say, “Alice, where’s my phone?” or “Alice, find my phone”, following which the voice assistant will call the user’s device, due to which it will be easier to find it.
“Holidays and traditional fuss are approaching. Everyone is in worries, among the New Year’s chaos, the phone at home is constantly disappearing somewhere. We wanted “Alisa” to learn how to call a lost smartphone, because this is a very popular request among users”– commented on the launch of the new function Sergey Melnik, head of the Yandex smart devices division.
The new function assumes that Alice calls the number that is linked by the owner of the smart column to the Yandex ID account in the process of setting up the device or installing other company services. In the case of using the caller ID from Yandex, a notification will appear on the device screen that Alice is calling. At this stage, such calls can be made to Russian mobile numbers. If you pick up the handset during a call, the call will end automatically, and when you call back, “Alice” will tell you who she is and why she called.
