Yair Netanyahu, the Prime Minister’s son, attacked President Yitzhak Herzog, who is on a political visit in Paris, and wondered why he does not return to Israel after the heavy disaster at Majdal Shams.
This is in the background of the harsh criticism leveled at the Prime Minister who delayed the announcement of his return to Israel from Washington immediately after the disaster.
“By the way,” wrote the prime minister’s son, “Boji Herzog is still in Paris? Still, it’s an important political mission to watch the Olympics.”

The President’s Office stated that immediately upon learning of the severe disaster at Majdal Shams, the President of the State instructed his team to check the possibility of an immediate advance of the flight, which was ruled out because his arrival was made on a commercial flight and there are no direct flights between France and Israel on Saturday. The president is expected to fly back to Israel tomorrow morning.
As you may recall, earlier Netanyahu’s office rejected the claims that only after the audit did the Prime Minister decide to return to Israel during his sabbatical (in the US) and clarified that Netanyahu ordered the flight to be brought forward immediately after word of the disaster became known.
