XZ000-G7: TP-Link Launch Aims for Greater Flexibility for ISPs
Thinking regarding solutions for this rapidly expanding universe, TP-Link, a global leader in connectivity, is launching the XPON terminal model, the XZ000-G7, designed to ensure better performance in internet providers with a fiber plan. With innovative features, the device arrives to meet this rising demand.
The growth and opportunity in the provider market is already a fact. Despite the four large companies holding 44% of the slice, the small and medium-sized ones dominate more than half of the market, representing more than 12 thousand registered providers. According to Anatel, the growth is due to the work of small internet providers working to take FTTH (Fiber To The Home) to distant cities and neighborhoods, replacing the traditional Internet with Radio Frequency.

Advantages and features
One of the highlights of the launch is the XPON port, which provides flexibility to the provider with choices between GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network), a network with greater bandwidth and greater transmission range, and EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network), with greater ease of deployment and maintenance. Compliant with ITU-T G.984 GPON standards, the XZ000-G7 supports maximum data rates of up to 2.488 Gbps towards the user (downstream) and 1.244 Gbps from the user (upstream). The options ensure advanced high-performance traffic capabilities, enabling secure HD video streaming and VoIP experiences.
XPON ports offer increased range and bandwidth across ISPs
The XZ000-G7 is part of the Two-Box Solution, that is, the provider uses the XPON terminal to receive the optical fiber and a router receives the ethernet cable. The solution is a lower cost alternative for providers to offer plans via fiber to new customers or offer an upgrade to subscribers who already have a robust router, but without fiber input, since it would not be necessary to change the subscriber’s equipment, just add the GPON terminal. Furthermore, because the fiber is connected to the XPON terminal, the subscriber can still adhere to a wide range of routers in the home.
Nelson Ito, Tp-Link’s ISP Business Director, explains that the company constantly invests in research and technologies to be attentive not only to trends, but also to solutions that promote the best cost-benefit ratio. “The equipment also has an intelligent energy saving mode, ensuring greater durability of the equipment, which, as it is integrated with the OMCI protocol, offers a ONU control interface that allows configuration and remote management”, he concludes.
