**Interview with Tech Analyst Jane Doe on Elon Musk’s Recent Changes to X**
**Host:** Welcome to our segment today, where we’re diving into the latest news about X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. Joining us is tech analyst Jane Doe. Jane, thank you for being here.
**Jane:** Thank you for having me!
**Host:** So, Elon Musk just announced a significant change to the blocking feature on X, allowing blocked users to still see public posts from those who have blocked them. What do you think of this change?
**Jane:** It’s quite a bold move. It challenges the traditional notion of blocking, which is meant to provide users with a sense of privacy and control over their interactions. By allowing blocked users to view public posts, Musk seems to be pushing for more transparency and interaction, even in the case of unwanted interactions.
**Host:** That’s an interesting perspective. How do you think users will react to this change?
**Jane:** Reactions will likely be mixed. Some users may appreciate the openness, especially if they find the platform’s content relevant and informative. Others, however, may feel uncomfortable knowing that their posts are accessible to those they wish to avoid. Privacy concerns will definitely come into play here.
**Host:** Right, and speaking of user reactions, Musk’s announcement about X hitting 60 million monthly active users is quite a milestone. What does this reflect about the platform’s growth?
**Jane:** Absolutely, reaching 60 million MAUs is significant for X, especially post-acquisition. It suggests that Musk’s strategies to transform X into a super app are resonating with users. The increase in engagement—about half of those users are active daily—indicates that the platform is beginning to carve out a niche in the social media landscape.
**Host:** You mentioned the goal of converting X into a super app. Can you explain what that entails?
**Jane:** Sure! A super app typically combines multiple services into one platform. For X, this means not just messaging and interactions but also functionalities like digital payments, streaming, and possibly even content sharing akin to platforms like WeChat or Weibo. If executed correctly, it could keep users engaged for a longer time by offering various services within the same interface.
**Host:** That sounds ambitious! Lastly, how do you think this progress will impact competition with other social media platforms?
**Jane:** If X successfully integrates those features while maintaining a user-friendly experience, it could pose a significant challenge to competitors like Instagram and Facebook. The blend of social media with versatile features could attract a diverse user base, particularly those looking for more than just a traditional social media experience.
**Host:** Thank you, Jane, for your insights! It seems the future of X is anything but ordinary.
**Jane:** Thanks for having me! I’m excited to see where it goes from here.
