Apple offers developers to code new worlds ‘, as the constructorannouncement in his dedicated blog. It is certainly for the Apple to recall the agenda of the festivities of the next week, starting of course with June 5 keynotebut this slogan (“ Code new worlds ”) leaves you wondering. New worlds like those of mixed reality, perhaps?

While waiting to finally be acquainted with what Apple has been concocting in its kitchens for years, Ross Young has just added his little grain of salt to the recipe. DSCC analyst and screen specialist noted in a tweet that the “Reality Pro” might have two 1.41-inch screens (one for each eye). Apple has reportedly set its sights on micro-OLED, an emerging display technology that offers generally much higher resolution than OLED, which is important for immersion in virtual worlds.

Apple reportedly intends to aim for a contrast of 4,000:1 and brightness exceeding 5,000 nits for its screens. Strangely, we would be very far from the 1,000,000:1 of the iPad Pro (mini-LED), on the other hand in terms of brightness, the eyes of helmet wearers would get a good sunburn! The iPad Pro indeed displays a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, while the PSVR 2 is content with 265 nits.

Finally, and as you might expect, Apple is preparing the ground to welcome the first applications compatible with xrOS, the operating system of the device. Developer Steve Troughton-Smith has tent to submit an application “designed” for the headset: of course, it was rejected by the automatic validation system of the App Store Connect… But the latter still recognized that it was an xrOS binary !

The error message returned by App Store Connect which does not respect Apple’s official spelling for “iOS”, nor for “xrOS”.

Apps and games, Apple is going to need to push interested users to slam $3,000 into a headset. We’ll see if No Man’s Sky will be from the partybut today it’s another hit that promises its arrival on Apple’s platforms: Beat Saber.

Jaroslav Beck, the co-founder of the studio behind Beat Saber, has indeed tweeted that June 5 was going to be ????????️. June 5… like the day of the keynote! His game, one of the few best-sellers on the VR market, was recently announced for the PSVR 2. So why not for xrOS…
