Xiaomi has decided to suspend the distribution of beta builds of its MIUI interface for some of its phones and tablets.

This might be a problem for users wanting to test out the release’s operating system, and it also indicates that some of these products may be close to ending their support for updates.

The phones and tablets affected by the decision are the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, Xiaomi Pad 5, Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold, Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi Mix 4, Xiaomi Civi, Xiaomi Civi 1S, Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus.

From August 4, these devices will no longer receive weekly MIUI beta builds. Generally, when Xiaomi removes devices from the program, it indicates that the end of software support is near.

It is likely that the aforementioned cell phones and tablets will receive just one more major operating system update, in addition to minor security updates. The decision will not directly affect global users not using beta versions. If this is your case, you will need to limit yourself to the stable channel.

However, the decision will disappoint some users as it signals the end of software support, main to Xiaomi Pad 5 line devices. Generally, the Chinese manufacturer is behind in the number of updates compared to other manufacturers that use the operating system, such as Samsung.

In addition to withdrawing these devices from the MIUI beta program, Xiaomi ended software support for the Mi 10 Lite Zoom, an intermediary launched in China in April 2020.
