Xiaomi POCO X6 Pro – Test in heavy games

Xiaomi POCO X6 Pro – Test in heavy games

2024-03-15 23:04:00

O POCO X6 PRO arrived in January 2024 with one of the best mid-range processors in the world Mediatek, o Dimensity 8300 Ultra. The version we purchased has 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage and a standard 5000 mAh battery. Xiaomi is trying hard to completely eliminate the edges on the device’s screen, here we have a body AMOLED extremely thin, with 6.67 inches size, resolution FULL HD+ and update rate 120 Hz.

Price and competitor

I imported this cell phone for R$2.400, and that is the price it is at the time I write this post. As a competitor, we have two options: one of them is the predecessor to this one, the POCO X5 Pro, an intermediary who did very well in games. The other option is the Galaxy A54 from Samsung, another mid-range cell phone that offers excellent value for money.

Both are costing R$1.600, but since it is tradition here on the site for the cell phone to compete once morest its previous version, we will maintain that in this edition. Remembering that this is an intermediary test, so we tested all games with graphics on medium. Without further ado, let’s get to the tests.

Xiaomi POCO X6 Pro in heavy games

Asphalt 9 (30FPS 97%)

We start by stepping on the accelerator with the Asphalt 9. Cars run at high speed, but the performance of POCO X6 PRO is idle. He got stuck with average in 30 frames e stability at 97%. This is a big disappointment, since racing games are where we benefit most from a high frame rate. Already the POCO X5 managed to run this game with 59 frames of average. Both had good stability and more than 5 hours of autonomy, but I know that the POCO X6 PRO has enough performance to reach 60 frames in this game, but it needed to be unlocked. For now, he only has the Roda Seal in Asphalt 9.

CarX Street (13FPS 30%)

We now arrive at CarX Street, the most difficult game to play not only on our list, but on the entire Playstore. Even though our POCO X6 Pro is a gamer phone, it doesn’t have enough performance to deal with the terrible optimization of this game. Just achieved 13 frames average, with the stability in horrifying 30% and autonomy of 3:39h.

If you want to play CarX on the POCO X6 PRO, you will need to reduce the graphics, on medium it has a No Wheel Seal.

Call of Duty – Mobile (40FPS 98%)

Moving on to shooting games, we start with one of the most popular, the good old COD Mobile. I was very disappointed with this result: or LITTLE X6 PRO atingiu 40 frames average, with 98% stability. It’s not bad to play like this, but o POCO X5 PRO unblock 60 frames in this game.

Of all the games on our list, COD is one of the most popular, so they should have optimized it better for this phone. Our program also didn’t get the battery usage data, but that’s okay, at the end of the post we play 1 hour of COD and see how much battery the cell phone uses, so keep watching. The X6 Pro will have to settle for the Roda Seal in COD Mobile, a shame.

Free Fire (59FPS 100%)

Enough of these heavy and difficult to play games, let’s take it easy on POCO and let it play Free Fire. Here it unfortunately did not unlock the 90 frames, it was stuck in 60 frames but with 100% stability. The POCO X5 PRO also had maximum stability, but with the frame rate at 90. The autonomy of both was great, more than 5 hours on both devices, but I didn’t like seeing the POCO frame rate. You will only have the Roda Liso Seal.

PUBG Mobile (59FPS 100%)

Exchanging shots in PUBG Mobile, we finally have our first good result on the POCO X6 PRO. No, it still didn’t do better than the last generation’s POCO, but at least it wasn’t worse. Both cell phones managed to maintain 60 frames not PUBG, com 100% stability and autonomy up there. Both keep the Roda Liso Seal.

Farlight 84 (60FPS 100%)

But there is at least one game where the POCO X6 really shows what it came for: in the Fairlight 84, he managed to maintain the average 60 frames with perfect stability and 5:16h of autonomy. O POCO X5 PRO reached the 42 frame media, but with stability greatly impaired, only 61%, very difficult to play. The autonomy, which was already good, got even better on the POCO X6. It went from 3:45 to 5:16h. Smooth Wheel Seal on the Fairlight, finally.

Mortal Kombat (104FPS 100%)

Mortal Kombat was another case where the new Poco X6 PRO did better than the old one. They were 104 media frames com 100% stability and an impressive 7 hours of autonomy. In that same game, the X5 PRO did not unlock more than 65 frames on average. At the time we tested that phone, I said it had the potential to reach higher rates, and it seems that this potential has been unlocked in the X6 PRO. Roda Competitive Seal, well deserved.

Genshin Impact (45FPS 75%)

In Genshin, our POCO started running well, with an incredible 60 frames. But within a few minutes of gameplay, it heated up and reduced power, stabilizing us 45 frames e 75% stability. Even below 60, this is a higher result than the 34 frames we had last year with the POCO X5 Pro.

From 34 to 45 it doesn’t seem like that much of a difference, but during the game fluidity helps a lot. The Poco X6 Pro receives the Roda Liso Seal in this game, without a doubt one of the best value for money cell phones for playing Genshin.

Tower of Fantasy (60FPS 70%)

Something very similar to Genshin happened here at Tower of Fantasy – in the beginning, the cell phone was even managing to reach 80 frames on average, but it soon got hot and this number dropped to 60. That’s why the stability reached 70% – the cell phone it varied between 60 and 80 frames.

This was a very similar result to the POCO X5 Pro, which also released a high frame rate, but only managed to maintain 63 average frames with 89% stability.

The X5 also had better autonomy, 5:30 hours compared to the 3:15 hours of the X6. In Tower of Fantasy, the POCO X6 PRO achieves its first Competitive Roda Seal.

Honkai: Star Rail (60FPS 98%)

We didn’t get to play Honkai Star Rail at the time we tested the POCO X5 PRO, but here on the new phone, it managed to run smoothly. The average number of frames remained firmly at 60, with 98% stability and 4:42 hours of autonomy. Although this game is turn-based, it has several animations and explosions on the screen, effects that weigh heavily on the cell phone’s processor. Even so, the POCO X6 PRO held firm and secured the Selo Roda Liso in this game.

Fortnite (15FPS)

Many people are curious if their cell phones heat up a lot, especially traumatized Exynos users. To test this issue, we play an entire hour of COD MOBILE and see how much battery the cell phone uses and we also measure the screen temperature.

During an entire hour of gameplay, the POCO X6 PRO used only 12% of the total charge and the screen heated up by 8ºC, which is an excellent result for an intermediate cell phone.

To compare, the POCO X5 Pro used 15% of battery and heated up 17ºC. In other words, the new device is more efficient, at least that much, right?

Conclusion

And that was the long-awaited POCO X6 PRO. Based on how much you asked, I imagined that this cell phone would have a much better result, but it seems that Xiaomi faltered in the performance of this device.

During the channel’s journey, we made the smooth wheel of the Poco X3 Pro, X4 Pro and also the X5 Pro, all of which were very surprising with their performance and value for money in games. This one was also surprising, but in a negative way. I don’t know what Mediatek did with this Dimensity 8300 Ultra to make it do so badly, but I definitely don’t recommend the Poco X6 Pro for gaming. Even with it dropping in price, it will take a long time to reach the R$ 1,600 of competitors POCO X5 Pro and Galaxy A54. Until then, we will certainly have other releases with better value for money in games.
