Today, Thursday, the Chinese company, “Xiaomi”, the smart phone maker, officially launched two phones from the “Redmi” family, with a medium cost.
The two new phones, “Redmi K50 Pro” and “K50”, offer the best value for money, and feature many unique features aimed at young people.
Redmi K50 Pro
The “Redmi K50 Pro” phone, which comes with two SIM cards (Nano-SIM), runs on the “Android 12” operating system out of the box with the traditional “MIUI 13” interface from “Xiaomi”.
The phone features a “OLED 2K” screen made by “Samsung” that comes in a size of 6.67 inches (1440 x 3200 pixels).
The screen features “Dolby Vision” and supports “HDR10+” and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen offers a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, provides DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and has a Gorilla Glass Victus protection layer.
The smartphone is powered by a powerful 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
There is up to 512 GB of built-in UFS 3.1 storage, not expandable via a microSD card.
The phone connectivity options include support for 5G networks, “Wi-Fi 6”, “Bluetooth v5.3”, “NFC”, “GPS”, “Beidu”, “Glonass” and “USB Type-C” port .
The phone includes many sensors; Such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, ambient color temperature sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, infrared sensor, ultrasonic distance sensor.
The smartphone features a 5,000mAh battery, with 120W fast charging that is said to be able to charge up to 100% in less than 19 minutes.
It features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and is Hi-Res sound certified. The phone is water and dust resistant with an “IP53” certification, and weighs regarding 201 grams.
As for photography, the Redmi K50 Pro features a triple rear camera setup with a 100-megapixel Samsung S5KHM2 primary sensor with OIS (optical stabilization), an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with a wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor With a macro lens, the phone has a 20-megapixel selfie camera and a Sony IMX596 sensor.
The smartphone comes in four different versions, with the basic version of the phone starting at 2,999 Chinese yuan (regarding $472), which comes with 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage space. As for the 8 RAM + 256 storage version, it comes at a price of 3,299 Chinese yuan (regarding $519), and the 12 RAM + 256 storage version comes at a price of 3,599 yuan (approximately $567).
Finally, the larger version, which includes 12 GB RAM + 512 storage, comes with a price of 3,999 Chinese yuan (regarding $ 630). The phone is available in “Dim Light”, “Fantasy”, “Ink Feather” and “Silver Traces” colors.
Redmi K50
The Redmi K50 features the same specifications as its older brother in terms of the number of chipsets and screen specifications.
The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor, coupled with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
And the phone’s built-in storage capacity is 256 GB, “UFS 3.1”, not expandable via a “microSD” card. The phone includes the same connectivity options and sensors as the “Redmi K50 Pro” phone.
The phone houses a 5,500mAh battery, with 67W fast charging that is said to provide a charge of up to 80% in less than 30 minutes.
The phone also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support with Hi-Res sound certification.
The Redmi K50 features a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 primary sensor with optical stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor with a macro lens. It features a selfie camera on the front with a 20-megapixel Sony IMX596 sensor.
The phone is offered in three versions, where the price of the basic version (8 RAM + 128) starts from 2399 yuan (regarding 378 dollars), and the second version (8 RAM + 256) comes at a price of 2599 yuan (regarding 410 dollars), and the last version (12 RAM + 256) for a price of 2,799 yuan (regarding $441).
The phone is available in the same color options as the “Redmi K50 Pro” phone.
