The Chinese company explained that the heating element enables the shawl to be electrically heated in just three seconds, while the carbon nanotubes distribute heat over the entire surface.
The user can choose between three temperature settings: 38°C, 45°C and 50°C.
Xiaomi promotes the shawl as smart, which primarily means intelligent temperature control, which automatically turns off the heating element once the desired temperature is reached. Xiaomi has installed many safety mechanisms to prevent electrical lockouts and excessive overheating.
The shawl is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, which allows a runtime of four to seven hours depending on the temperature set. The battery is charged via the USB-C port up to 10 watts.
The shawl can be cleaned in the washing machine, but the battery and heating element must first be removed, which is easy thanks to the zipper on the back.
The new smart shawl is waterproof, so it can be worn even when it is raining or snowing.
