Xiaomi announced the new generation of gaming phones from the Black Shark series… Black Shark 5, Black Shark 5 RS and the most powerful Black Shark 5 Pro version… It came with powerful specifications at attractive prices… Let’s get to know the more professional version…
Black Shark 5 Pro specifications and prices
In terms of design, the front end comes with thin bezels on the top and bottom with a hole for the front camera … The rear comes with a game-like design with a flashing phrase … On the top we have the camera lenses arranged in a triangle within a rectangular window. On the side of the phone we find physical pop-up buttons dedicated to controlling the game. To deal with high temperatures, there are two steam chambers to reduce the temperature of the processor. And apparently, there is no official standard for water and dust resistance on the phone. The company hasn’t announced the body materials surrounding the device, but we expect it to be metallic with an aluminum frame like last year’s version.
We move to the screen because it is the most important component of a gaming phone… Xiaomi has installed a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, its resolution is FHD +, its density is 395 pixels per inch, it supports one billion colors, and its refresh rate is 144 Hz. And the touch response speed is up to 720 Hz, which is a large amount and helps to adapt to finger touches at the same time during gaming… Maximum screen brightness 1300 nits, easy to use in the sun. There are also two ambient light sensors, one at the front and one at the back, that adjust brightness to suit all conditions.
In terms of performance, the Pro comes with the first generation Snapdragon 8 processor, which is the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm with a 4nm manufacturing accuracy … with Adreno 730 graphics processor. This processor is considered a pioneer in the field of gaming and demonstrated efficiency. In terms of memory, the RAM comes in 8, 12 or 16 GB options with 256 and 512 GB storage capacities. Interestingly, the 512 GB version comes with memory equally divided between the usual SSD and UFS 3.1. This significantly improved the phone’s ROM performance. On the other hand, the phone does not support the installation of an external storage chip. The phone runs Android 12 and carries the Xiaomi Joy UI 13 gaming interface.
We come to the cameras, which are considered the least important in mobile games… A trio came from the back with a 108-megapixel main lens… and there is a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens… and a third lens with macro technology to capture pictures from a close distance and its accuracy is 5 megapixels. As for the front camera, it comes with a single 16-megapixel camera.
The Black Shark 5 Pro features dual stereo speakers that match the top and bottom, and is #1 in the DxOMark audio ratings. Unfortunately, the 3.5 mm input for connecting the wired headphones has been canceled, and to protect the fingerprint, it is on the side of the device and is not built into the bottom part of the screen. For connectivity, the phone supports the installation of two SIM cards and supports 5G networks.
The phone battery comes with a capacity of 4650 mAh and supports 120W high-speed charging, like the previous generation. This speed allows the phone battery to fully charge in less than 15 minutes.
The Black Shark 5 Pro starts at $660 for an 8GB RAM and 256GB version, and it will be available in black and white… It will go on sale first in China and the company will set a mass launch date at a later time.
As for the other versions announced by the company, the Black Shark 5 RS came with a different design on the back, with a Snapdragon 888 or 888 Plus processor, depending on the storage version, and a 64-megapixel camera. Its price starts at 520 USD, and the regular Black Shark 5 came with the lowest specifications among the three devices and the lowest price as well… In terms of design, it is similar to the Pro version and comes with a Snapdragon .870 and 4650 mAh processor. The rest of the specifications are the same as the Black Shark 5 RS, and its price starts at $ 425.
In addition to the phones, the company announced several bundled accessories to enhance the gaming experience, including headphones, a charger, and a cooling case… all of which can be purchased separately.
