Xiaomi Xaiomi announced the Buds 4 Pro wireless earphone, which has a great design, whether for headphones or for the case. Inside the shiny case – which comes in either a silver or a shiny gold color – we find the earphones, which are beautiful with their zigzag lines and a brushed cover that shines. Each one is held in place magnetically and can be easily removed for use. However while the enclosure itself looks great too.
Inside the box, Xiaomi offers three earphones of different sizes, and it is supported by the Xiaomi Earbuds application, which contains controls for settings and making sure that you use the headphones with a proper allocation to get the best performance for you. The company didn’t disclose driver specifications, but says the earphones support Hi-Res LDAC codec and SBC and AAC codecs. Xiaomi has also added its own technology in Spatial Audio – called Dimensional Audio – which provides head tracking for an immersive audio experience.

We’re used to seeing top-cover earphone cases that open like an oyster with a pearl inside, but the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro have a different point of view and design. The earphones are housed inside an unusually designed Xiaomi case that resembles a space capsule, as the glossy top opens to reveal the earphones, which are also very well designed. It’s a different, eye-catching, different approach.
The speaker stems have touch controls, inputs are confirmed with haptic feedback, and are equipped with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Xiaomi says the earbuds block sound up to 48dB, with six different levels available for performance tuning. There are also three levels of transparency for use during calls and in situations where you want to be aware of your surroundings. Bluetooth Multipoint is also available, so you can easily switch between two paired devices.
Xiaomi said that the Buds 4 Pro’s battery capacity is regarding nine hours of use on a single charge, and 38 hours in total using the battery inside the box. These numbers are uncertain until the headphones are reviewed, of course. The case recharges using a USB Type-C cable, or by placing it on a wireless charging pad.
Xiaomi hasn’t announced the price of the Buds 4 Pro, but we’ll update this article when details are revealed. The competition in the wireless earphones arena is very tough, with a variety of excellent options and strong price competition, but Xiaomi is always back to competing with the big brands and its great design.
