We start with the design with two very different looks here. Xiaomi uses a giant circular rim to house the cameras on the back and very curved sides. The Galaxy relies on its lenses placed individually on the lid, as well as straighter frames than its competitor.
In terms of construction, manufacturers use a metal structure in their advanced cell phones. The Chinese top contains a 6.73-inch OLED screen, almost the same size as the 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X on the Korean flagship. The 13 Ultra does more in the amount of colors reproduced, while the Galaxy focuses on providing greater brightness.
On both sides, we see a Quad HD+ resolution, for great image definition, and a 120 Hz refresh rate on each, focused on providing high fluidity in animations and compatible games.

As we are talking about two tops of the line here, both have a stereo audio system, which uses the call speaker as an additional channel. What differentiates one from the other is the presence of a third sound output in Chinese.
But does this also increase power? The Xiaomi isn’t bad at maximum volume, but it doesn’t quite surpass the sound that the Galaxy delivers. At least on both sides you will have a good balance between bass, mids and treble.
It is worth remembering that none of them have a physical connector for headphones, nor do they send an adapted accessory in the packaging.

We have two devices here that come out of the box with Android 13 from the factory and will have five years of security packages, with a higher frequency in Korean. Xiaomi still promises three updates for the “little robot”, but it doesn’t surpass the four software updates guaranteed by Samsung.
On both sides, we have a very agile and fluid system driven by the 120 Hz refresh rate present in them. The mobile network is also fast on both, thanks to compatibility with 5G technology.
In terms of features, the 13 Ultra stands out for its customization options and shortcuts in a floating menu, in addition to the heart rate sensor integrated into the biometric reader. On the other hand, the S23 Ultra brings Good Lock customizations, Edge Panel shortcuts and DeX mode to transform the cell phone into a portable PC. We see yes in our standardized tests. The S23 Ultra was the fastest both when running apps and when reopening in the background, with an advantage of practically four seconds in total time.
Benchmarks are unable to capture this superiority of the Korean chip, with a technical draw in AnTuTu and Geekbench indicators. Moving on to games, these devices are capable of running all the titles we tried at maximum quality and with extras activated without difficulty.

These flagships are two more cell phones powered by a 5,000 mAh battery. Does the same capacity mean having similar durations? It’s not quite like that. The Xiaomi reaches 31 and a half hours away from the socket, with more than an hour advantage over the Samsung competitor.
When we go to load, the scenario does not change. The 12 Ultra takes less than 40 minutes to reach 100%, with its 90 W adapter. The S23 Ultra needs more than an hour to complete the process, due to its less powerful 25 W accessory.
This is an easy point for the Chinese woman.

In both cases, we find a set with four rear cameras. The 13 Ultra’s 50 MP main camera can take good photos and benefit from Leica’s modified software, but on the other side we have a more advanced 200 MP sensor from the Galaxy, which nails more dynamic range, more vivid colors and level of detail, in addition to delivering clearer night images than the rival.
Xiaomi’s 50 MP ultrawide maintains the resolution to provide similar brightness, colors and contrast to the main one, but this does not mean that the S23 Ultra’s 12 MP camera is left behind, as it has received welcome software improvements. The duo also features automatic focus on the wider lens, to capture higher quality macros.
Both have a telephoto camera and a periscopic camera. Their common telephoto is in the three times optical zoom range, for sharp distance images. The Chinese periscope only zooms in up to five times, which does not provide all the efficiency present in ten times zoom. With these two, you will also be able to take photos of the Moon, with a little greater sharpness in Chinese.
With a more advanced main sensor, the point goes to the Galaxy.

In the confrontation between two top of the line competing as the best Android, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra had no place on the scoreboard. It also offers some differences to the user. We are talking about the “different” design with a more compact and lighter body, the screen with better colors and Dolby Vision support, and the battery with better autonomy and less charging time.
But the Galaxy S23 Ultra proved to be more complete overall. The Korean model offers the brightest display, the most powerful sound, the system with the greatest longevity and the best multitasking performance. Samsung’s cell phone is still the only one officially launched in Brazil so far, and this allows it to be found at a lower price in national retail than the price charged by competitor’s importers.
