A Xiaomi today launched the new version of its most advanced smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Despite bringing a familiar design compared to the past version, the device has some incremental improvements, presented this morning by the Chinese company.
Right away, the gimmick of the device are the four rear cameras of the Leica, arranged in a circular format. The main lens is 50 megapixels, but now varies between ƒ/1.9 and ƒ/4.0, and works in conjunction with the sensor IMX989 1 inch (from Sony), which has a focal length of 23mm and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).
The set also has a telephoto lens (75mm, ƒ/1.8, OIS), a super telephoto (120mm, ƒ/3.0, OIS) and a wide-angle lens (12mm, ƒ/1.8, 122º angle of view). These lenses use the 50MP 1/2.51-inch IMX858 sensor. The selfie camera, arranged in a format hole-punchremains at 32MP.
A great smartphone deserves a great chipset and that’s why the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, by Qualcomm. It has up to 16GB of LPDDR5X DRAM memory and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
In addition, the device has a DisplayPort video output compatible with monitors up to 4K at 60Hz and a USB 3.2 port – which, according to Xiaomi, transfers data at up to 5Gbps, about 10x faster than the 12S Ultra.
The device’s battery has 5,000mAh and it comes with a 90W charger. According to the Chinese, it is possible to recharge it up to 100% in just 35 minutes.
The company also introduced a new “Hibernation mode”, which promises to extend the last 1% of the battery by up to 60 minutes, thanks to the P2 Charging Chip and G1 Battery Management coprocessors, from Xiaomi itself.
One thing the company didn’t touch was the AMOLED panelActive-matrix organic light-emitting diodeor matrix-active organic light emission by diodes.”>1 that equips the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. It still has the same dimension (6.73″), resolution of 3200×1440 pixels and refresh rate of 120Hz. The novelty here is the brightness peak that the new device can reach. In addition to having better viewing angles and offering lower power consumption, according to Xiaomi, the smartphone is capable of reaching up to 2,600 nits — about 48% more than the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and 30% more than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, as pointed out by the Wccftech.
Finally, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is IP68 rated, with dust and water resistance, metal body and more advanced vapor chamber. The function of this new chamber is to dissipate heat faster, keeping the phone cooler during tasks that demand more from it.
Already on pre-order in China, the version with 12GB of RAMRandom access memoryor random access memory.”>3 and 256GB of storage of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra costs ¥5.999 (about R$4,300). The most complete variant, with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, comes out for ¥7.299 (~R$5,280). The device is available in olive green, black and white colors.
Although the device should hit the international market in the coming days, Xiaomi has not revealed when (or if) it will officially appear in Brazil. In mainland China, it will go on sale on 4/21.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8
Xiaomi also announced the Smart Band 8, with a 1.62″ AMOLED screen and a new metal frame. Now, the bracelets are connected in two parts, with a fitting at each end. In this way, the company promises greater versatility, promising that the device will be placed on a necklace or on the lace of a sneaker, for example.
Still according to the company, battery life has been improved, in addition to fast charging. The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 now has a new light sensor and can automatically adjust the screen brightness according to the ambient light intensity.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 prices start from ¥239 (~R$170) — the company did not say whether the product will be sold in Brazil.
Xiaomi Pad 6 e 6 Pro
Who also gained news were the Xiaomi Pad 6 and 6 Pro. Tablets now have an LCD screenLiquid crystal displayor liquid crystal display.”>4 11″ with 2.8K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, in addition to being powered by the Snapdragon 8+ processor. They are equipped with an 8,600mAh battery and support 67W fast charging.
Tablets cost from ¥1.899 (~R$1,370). Like the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the Smart Band, the new tablets also have no plans to arrive in Brazil — that is, if they do.
