With the XFX RX 6600 (not XT) I have now observed problems with loading textures in some games (Assassin’s Creed Origins and Control). In AC: Origins the textures of many characters (not all) take a while to load and as you walk through the city you have to pass many ugly “placeholder men”. In Control, some environment textures are only loaded in a very fuzzy, pixelated 1995 variant. That totally annoys me. In AC:Origins I didn’t have such problems with my old Nvidia gtx 1060. Interestingly, the problems don’t even occur with some other games such as Fallout 4 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I’ve tried both the current recommended drivers and the newer optional ones. What I didn’t do is reinstall Windows following the Nvidia/AMD change, but according to many it shouldn’t be necessary anymore. The old Nvidia drivers have been uninstalled.
I would be very grateful for help, there are many on Redit who report similar problems with AMD cards, unfortunately I did not find a direct solution for me.
