Xenia Arapaki’s exhibition (Ceramics and Painting), the Karagiozi performances in Paos and Lehouri and the theatrical performance “What did the cleaner’s son see” are the next four stops of the cultural events organized by the Municipality of Kalavryton under the title “Cultural Summer 2024”.

The retrospective exhibition of Xenia Arapaki -as stated in the program of events- “combines her ceramic work with her work in painting, highlighting the common points in these two aspects of her art. On the one hand, her design which always has a sculptural mood and pushed her to deal with clay and plaster but also to give volume and movement to the painting composition. On the other hand, her color palette which exploits a limited range of pure colors, from earths to the edges of white, to highlight her abstract compositions in painting as well as her dedication to abstraction alongside a promise of purpose in the ceramic forms. A point of reference for the dissemination of her work to the general public is the creation of a Ceramics Workshop in Kertezi, photographic and visual souvenirs of which will be presented at the exhibition”.

Xenia Arapaki studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts with teachers G. Mavroides, P. Tetsis and D. Mytaras and obtained degrees in Painting, Ceramics and Theoretical Studies. He completed his PhD in Educational Sciences at the Pedagogical Department of Preschool Education of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Her exhibition will be hosted at the Stone Building in Kalavryta, from July 15 to August 9 with opening hours of 11 am. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

On Thursday, July 18 at 9 p.m. in the central square of Paus and on Friday July 19 – at the same time – in the central square of Lehouri, the Black Theater of Patras will present the Shadow Theater show “The Red Corsair”, with free entry.

Also, on Saturday, July 20, the Kalavryton Cultural Center will present the theatrical performance “What did the cleaner’s son see?”, a black comedy by Yiannis Soldatos directed by Angelos Delikaris.

A few words regarding the show: “A room! It’s as if people defy their existence in it… However, the event becomes even more terrifying as five heroes collide with each other and become entangled in a crazy merry-go-round. A small mistake by one is enough to bring disaster. Then you’re left to watch, listen and learn enthralled. Do not do it! Go away! If, of course, you can… You know nothing! You didn’t hear anything! You didn’t see anything! Unless someone decides to… to…”.

Starring (in order of appearance) Dimitris Pitsos, Eva Agrafioti, Angelos Delikaris, Maria Lola, Vassilis Trichas. Giorgos Alkaios narrates.
