The month of June is generally active: it is the month of the baccalaureate exams, Roland-Garros, but also that of E3! In difficulty for a few years, the show would even be stolen from the limelight by the manufacturers themselves. And according to Jeff Grubb, it is Microsoft that would be ready to deploy its own show in June.
An Xbox & Bethesda Showcase type showcase?
Remember, it was June 13: Microsoft announced a major event, entitled “Xbox & Bethesda Showcase”, to publicly seal the union between two industry giants. The manufacturer had made several announcements there thanks to a controlled show. It seems that the formula has been successful internally, to the point that Microsoft is preparing to unveil a 2022 edition of its showcase.
The prying Jeff Grubb has revealed, in a video posted on YouTube, that Microsoft is currently in discussion with third-party partners and publishers to ensure their presence at this still hypothetical event. Taking advantage of the wobble of E3, which will be held once more this year exclusively online, Microsoft might therefore steal the show at the mythical American show, which has been losing popularity for a few years.
I’ll probably have more to say soon, but it will be in June, not May. In fact, they (Xbox, editor’s note) might do something in May or September, I don’t know, but what I do know is that they are planning an E3-style show for June. They are currently talking with partners to have big games. It’s currently underway and it’s only March so it’s not like they can change that ‘train’ or run that ‘big ship’. They are going in this direction and they are going to do something in this time frame.
The journalist seems certain that an event of the magnitude of 2021 will soon be held, while E3 is still struggling to attract major companies in the industry. While waiting for confirmation or denial, you will be able to find the new ID@Xbox products at the Spring Showcase which is will hold Wednesday, March 16 and which you can follow with us!
