The British motoring show Top Gear has posted a video on its YouTube channel showing a brand new, robotic taxi from Rimac. From a gamer’s perspective, the most interesting part is a fragment lasting just a few seconds, appearing at the 9th minute of the film. It shows an unusual Xbox dashboard, displayed on a giant screen built into the cockpit.
Xbox Dashboard in an Autonomous Car
The robotic taxi is the work of Rimac Automobil, a Croatian manufacturer of electric hypercars, part of the Croatian-German joint venture Bugatti-Rimac. According to the manufacturer, the two-seater has been equipped with a 43-inch display that is supposed to “mimic the feeling of being in your own living room.” The autonomous vehicle will be able to make the journey to its destination more pleasant for passengers by showing them movies and perhaps also allowing them to play games.

The published video may suggest the possibility of gameplay on board the car, although this is just speculation for now. It is not known whether the dashboard presents the first look at the portable version of the Xbox, or whether it was created solely for the purposes of demonstrating the prototype vehicle.
Portable Xbox may be closer than we think
There have been rumors for some time that Microsoft is considering creating a portable version of its flagship console, as recently suggested by the brand’s CEO, Phil Spencer. The handheld has not yet been officially presented, and Spencer refused to provide any information regarding it when asked by journalists.

It is therefore possible that in the video prepared by Top Gear, we see a version of the portable Xbox dashboard, adapted for use in a car and operating on a similar principle to Android Auto and Apple Car Play. For now, however, this is only speculation and we have to wait until more specifics on this topic appear.
