The Xbox Spring Sale offers up to 80% off Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S games, including hundreds of games, bundles, and DLC. As part of the Xbox festive tradition, some Xbox players will also receive a special gift. Some users have confirmed that Xbox is giving out gift cards randomly.
This was shared on social media by many Xbox users who received Xbox gift cards, all in the amount of $5, via emails associated with their Xbox accounts. It’s unclear how many gift cards have been sent, and while these are rare, if you’re an Xbox user, you should check your mailbox to see if you’re the lucky one.
Xbox users can use gift cards at will, whether it’s games, DLC, movies, or apps, through the Xbox and Microsoft Stores. It’s worth noting, however, that the gift card will expire on July 16 this year.
This isn’t the first time Xbox has done this kind of giveaway, which has become a regular part of the big Xbox sale. The last time it was Christmas 2021, Xbox sent random gift cards worth up to $100 to Xbox and Microsoft Store users. It’s unclear if the giveaway is completely random, or if Xbox is using an algorithm to hand out gift cards to valuable users or those it thinks are more likely to spend money during the promotion.
