Xbox Insider: you can now keep 2 games in Quick Resume indefinitely | Xbox One

Xbox updates follow one another for program members Xbox Insider. While we have detailed the February Xbox Update with some new stuff for Insiders, another update arrives today starting at 11 p.m.

Keeping two games in Quick Resume is now possible

With this new update for Alpha members of the Xbox Insider program, users of Xbox Series X|S consoles can now keep up to two games in Quick Resume mode, regardless of other games launched. These games will only be removed from this buffer mode if the user manually disables them or if one of the games is updated. In other words, it’s regarding “forcing” a game to stay in Quick Resume.

As a reminder, the Quick Resume allows you to leave a game, do something else in between (even turn off the console), then restart the game to return exactly to where you were. This functionality is made possible thanks to the Xbox Series X|S SSD and it only takes a few seconds to return to where you left off. The Quick Resume is available on thousands of Xbox games.

You can’t decide which game goes into Quick Resume mode when you quit it, and there’s a maximum number of games that can go into that state, apparently depending on how much weight they represent. It is estimated that 5-7 games can be available at the same time in Quick Resume mode, and launching a new game causes one of the others to disappear.

With this new option, it is therefore possible to choose two games that can be frozen in this mode to be resumed later.
