Microsoft, according to the Windows Central website, has long considered the possibility of creating a family plan in Game Pass, but a number of issues had to be resolved before this idea might be realized. So, the company needed to determine how the deductions from subscriptions to the family plan would be paid, how the use of games licensed for Game Pass from third-party publishers by subscribers of this tariff would be compensated.
In the end, according to several sources, Microsoft still decided to launch family plan in Game Pass. It will open access for five users from one country. This version of Game Pass will use the family account system from Office 365. The owner of the main profile will be able to manage the subscription.
The cost of the family plan is unknown, but it is reported that it will be cheaper than if five players subscribed to Game Pass separately. Windows Central also doesn’t know if there will be separate family plans for Game Pass on PC and consoles.
Journalists believe that the opening of such a tariff should be announced relatively soon, and they are going to launch it before the end of 2022.
