The employees of Microsoft will no longer have access to a free subscription to Game Pass Ultimate among its benefits. As reported by The Vergethe measure should come into force from January 2024 and the only exception will be people who work directly in the Xbox division.

According to anonymous internal sources, there was general discontent regarding this new development. In fact, some of these workers even posted protest messages in the company’s chat, something that ended up catching the attention of Phil Spencer.

That said, it appears that Spencer was unaware of the situation and began investigating it. Despite no longer being able to access a free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, employees will still be able to get the discounted annual plan from the in-store as normal.

Recently, news broke that talked regarding Microsoft removing Game Pass growth from the performance incentives that allow the CEO to receive more money in prizes. In this sense, the company’s executive director, Satya Nadella, did not include the platform in the issue.

With the acquisition of Acitivision-Blizzard, Microsoft promised that several of the group’s games will be available in the cloud gaming service’s catalog. Therefore, expectations remain for the platform’s growth to return over the next few months.

In the meantime, check out the titles that arrive in the catalog during the month of November.
