Xbox Game Pass: Call of Duty is not ready to arrive on Microsoft’s service | Xbox One

Since the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft last January, many rumors evoke the possibility that the Call of Duty franchise will enter the Xbox Game Pass.

The wait may be long

Unfortunately, according to Tom Henderson, the partnership signed between PlayStation and Activision regarding the Call of Duty franchise should last several more years, thus preventing the arrival of the franchise on the green brand service.

Still according to the American journalist, this famous partnership might extend until 2025/2026 and concerns at least the next three titles of the saga, namely Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Warzone 2 and the future game developed by Trearch.

As a reminder, at the time of the takeover of Activision Blizzard, Xbox had, through Phil Spencer, assured that the existing partnerships between PlayStation and the American publisher would be honored. It is therefore to be expected that PS4 and PS5 owners will continue to benefit from exclusive content and modes, in addition to early access to the beta of the next game.

Thus, with rumors evoking the possibility that no canonical opus will see the light of day in 2023, Xbox players may have to wait until 2025 and the marketing of the next game developed by Sledghammer Games to be able to enjoy a Call of Duty added at launch in Xbox Game Pass.

Whatever, Call of Duty : Modern Warfare II will land on PC and consoles on October 28 and should be revealed in more depth via a four-minute gameplay video on June 8.
