Xbox Conference Announcements

This Wednesday, Microsoft unveiled its line-up of games planned for the first half of 2023. Among the headliners: Forza Motorsport 5, Minecraft Legends and Redfall.

Minecraft Legends – 18 avril 2023 (PC, XboxOne, Xbox Series)

Introduced a few months ago, Minecraft Legends showed up more during the event. This spin-off of the series will offer an adventure that can be played solo or competitively. The game presents itself as an ambitious cooperative and competitive strategy game, mixing elements inspired by tower defenses, the open world of Minecraft and also action since it would be a priori possible to direct certain characters. Surprisingly enough, the title will not be released on other machines, unlike the previous installment.

Forza Motorsport 5 – by June 2023 (PC, Xbox Series)

No fixed release date for this one, but the title should arrive by next June. Forza Motorsport 5 is increasingly shaping up to be THE ultimate car simulation for racing game enthusiasts. The game will offer to drive more than 500 racing cars on nearly twenty iconic tracks. It will also be one of the first true next-gen games, since it won’t be released on Xbox One.

Redfall – 2 mai 2023 (PC, Xbox Series)

Fans of cooperative FPS will be able to turn to Redfall, the new game from the Arkane studio (Dishonored), which looks like a Left-4-Dead in the land of zombies. Ambitious, the project showed itself through a long demo. It stands out from other games of the genre by its vast open-world and its impressive diversity in terms of weapons and enemies.

The Elder Scrolls Online Necro – 20 juin 2023

Unsurprisingly, Bethesda had come to present the new chapter of its MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. “Necro” will offer to dive into the universe of Necromancers and will offer to explore new environments, solo or online. If it has aged technically, the game now unites a solid community and continues to establish itself as one of the most popular RPGs of the moment.

Hi-Fi Rush – available now

The real surprise finally came from Hi-Fi Rush, a curious mix of beat ’em up, action game and rhythm game from the studio behind the Evil Within series. We find behind this project a big name in the video game industry, since Shinji Mikami himself worked on the project. A curious mix of No More Heroes and Jet Set Radio, Hi-Fi Rush was the only announcement of the evening. And, good surprise for the players, it is available now in the Gamepass.

Other Xbox games expected Q1 and Q2:

  • Goldeneye 007 from January 27
  • Age of Empires 2 from January 31
