Xbox Cloud Gaming: Flight Simulator will soon support the keyboard/mouse combo! | Xbox One

Microsoft Flight Simulator is probably one of the most advanced video game simulations available today. Already noticed for generating our good planet Earth in real time and now available even on a mobile phone screen thanks to Xbox Cloud Gaming, the game will soon be able to support the keyboard/mouse combo, even in streaming!

Controller, HOTAS, keyboard/mouse…

The horizon already seemed clear for Microsoft Flight Simulator, it would almost be possible to see no more storm warnings. The most advanced simulation of the Xbox Series X | S already offered daunting content, the Asobo Studio teams want to go even further. Available recently on any of your screens thanks to Xbox Cloud Gaming, the game will soon be compatible with even more accessories that currently. Even streaming!

It was during a question and answer session, organized on the game’s YouTube channel, that members of the development team spoke regarding the features to come for the simulation. A question posed in the chat deserves particular attention and Jorh Neumann does not hide the future plans of the license:

Viewer: We know it’s already possible to use an Xbox controller on Xbox Cloud Gaming, do you know what other devices might be used on xCloud, if that’s possible?

Jorg Neumann: The next step for us is the keyboard/mouse combo. This is platform-level support that has nothing to do with us, although most keyboards are compatible on our sim. The platform team is working on it, but I can’t give a date. It happens.

Jorg Neumann therefore confirms indirectly that the development teams of the Xbox Cloud Gaming are working on the possibility of being able to control a streamed game by an external device. This news offers new perspectives and might even make it possible to consider the distribution of games from the PC Game Pass via the live streaming service, as was evoked several months ago.

In the rest of his answer, Jorg Neumann also explains that he is working on the possibility of controlling planes via the touch function or implementing a gyroscopic function which would bring “a plus in an aircraft piloting experience”. An unsurprising speech when we know that more and more of players are using these features, which are particularly suited to mobile gaming, and proof that Xbox Cloud Gaming is still far from having revealed all of its features. Jorg Neumann even mentions the month of June as the first availability range! The replay of the live can be found below.
