The Spanish newspaper “Sport” revealed a new development in Barcelona’s quest to bring back Argentine star Lionel Messi.
Messi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires next June, and the two parties did not reach an agreement regarding the renewal of the contract, amid linking the player to return to Barcelona.
According to the newspaper “Sport”, Xavi struggled from the first minute for the return of Leo Messi to Barcelona.
She indicated that there is still a lot to do to bring Messi back, especially on the economic level.
But Xavi will have everything ready in terms of the changing room, should Messi return following leaving the club in 2021.
And “Sport” confirmed that Xavi began verifying Messi’s return and is communicating with the Argentine star, just as Barcelona president Joan Laporta wanted Messi’s return weeks following Xavi was appointed coach of the team.
It seems that Xavi is convinced that Messi’s arrival will be achieved, and “Sport” wrote that in one of the conversations with Messi, the young coach said: “You have only one thing left to do in football, leave the club of your life well.”
