Xact Metal and GPAINNOVA build integrated post-processing for AM

The American metal printer manufacturer Xact Metal will collaborate with the American branch of GPAINNOVA, developer of equipment for post-processing the surfaces of metal AM components. Part of the collaboration is that Xact Metal can use the dry electro polishing technology of DryLyte Technology as a post-processing solution for the 3D metal printers.

This partnership marks a pivotal moment for the additive manufacturing (AM) industry, says Xact Metal. Together they want to offer a cost-effective total solution for 3D metal printing, the combination of an automated AM system and post-processing equipment.

From design to finished product

What they have in mind is a fully automated system, from design to finished AM product. Automation of both the AM process and post-processing is an explicit part of this. They want to offer an integrated solution through the collaboration. “We would like to expand our knowledge of how the manufacturing industry is integrating Xact Metal technology into its daily production environment,” said Jesús Contreras, Business Developer at GPAINNOVA Americas. “Xact Metal has developed a unique market strategy that creates synergies similar to those of GPAINNOVA.” Juan Mario Gomez, CEO of Xact Metal, expects to reduce the share of man-hours in AM production.

Different brands

The Spanish company has several brands of post-processing solutions for the AM industry. DryLite and Murua are the well-known brands. DryLite’s patented technology in particular is well known in the AM industry.

In the Benelux, Xact Metal’s 3D metal printers are distributed by Seido Systems
