X-Plorer Serie 75 S+: Rowenta launches its first robot vacuum cleaner with automatic emptying

Small revolution, at Rowenta at least. The firm has decided to revisit its robot vacuum cleaner Xplorer Series 75 to make it its first model capable of automatically emptying its collector. The X-Plorer Serie 75 S+ is therefore delivered with a charging station enriched with a suction system, as is however already found on the stations of the competition since 2019, year of release of the Roomba i7+ notably.

Up to 60 days of suction without lifting a finger

Logically more imposing than a simple charging station, like that of the X-Plorer Serie 75 for short, the station that accompanies this S+ version can more exactly accommodate a 4.1-litre bag. According to Rowenta, that’s enough to hold the equivalent of 60 days of suction. In return, the collector of the robot has been reduced. Its capacity goes from 400 to 260 ml, which still seems very low. The size of the battery has also apparently been reduced since Rowenta only announces a range of 120 minutes; against 150 min for the classic model. This X-Plorer Serie 75 S+ is therefore certainly not a model very suitable for large areas.

We find for the rest more or less the same characteristics as on the model that we already know, starting with a suction power announced at 2700 Pa. To help it take off dirt from the ground, the latest addition to the 75 series of the X-Plorer can also count on a motorized central brush to which is added not two, but only one side brush, while a wipe to be fixed on the back of the robot must allow it to eliminate the stains in its path. Thanks to the application, with which it communicates via Wi-Fi, it is possible to choose from different suction powers and water flow rates to adapt the cleaning to the type of floor.

The application also allows you to define virtual walls and select specific rooms to clean, once the house has been mapped using the laser rangefinder which overlooks the robot. Sensors are of course also provided on the tower and the bottom of the robot to allow it to detect obstacles and stairs, even if the system does not seem as sophisticated as that of a S7 MaxVor even that of X-Plorer Series 120 AI at Rowenta. We can also add that the washing system also seems quite basic compared to the vibrating wipes and rotating pads of other models. And let’s not even talk about the automatic washing of the most sophisticated models, such as the Deebot X1 Omni of Ecovacs or the Dreame L10S Ultra.

Failing to revolutionize the market, therefore, the Rowenta X-Plorer Serie 75 S+ comes at a relatively affordable price, since it was launched at the recommended retail price of €699.79. It is even already possible to find it for less than 600 €.
