WWE wrestler Bray Wyatt died Thursday at the age of 36.

WWE Creative Director Paul “Triple H” Levesque broke the sad news on social media.

“I have just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda, who informed us of the tragic news of the unexpected passing of a lifetime member of our WWE family, Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – earlier today, Levesque wrote on X. Our thoughts are with his family and we ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time. »

Wyatt, whose birth name was Windham Rotunda, was known for his creative spirit pushing boundaries with his innovative characters. He had been inactive for several months to treat a health problem, the nature of which has not been publicly disclosed.

Wyatt had been with WWE since 2009, except for a stint of just over a year in 2021 and 2022 when he was released by the company. He was WWE Champion in 2017 as well as WWE Universal Champion twice in 2019 and 2020.
