WWE NXT 2.0 #55 (Tapings: 21.09.2022)
Ort: WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, USA
First broadcast: September 27, 2022
Today’s show will be opened by Ilja Dragunov, who goes to the ring chanting “Welcome Back”. He claims to have taken the grand title from Gunther on his last visit to NXT. Now he wants to win gold once more, but the colossus standing in his way this time is called Bron Breakker. This is the cue for JD McDonagh. The new main challenger to the NXT Championship emerges, reminiscing regarding the pair’s time at NXT UK. This also brings back memories for Dragunov, such as the moment the Russian defeated McDonagh and was banned from NXT UK. The Irishman also remembers this, but he also knows that Dragunov was not the same following this fight. Eventually he had to resign the NXT UK Championship due to injury. Now McDonagh makes one thing clear to his counterpart: this is not the time for Dragunov! Because at the moment McDonagh is the main challenger and will take his chance and if Dragunov interferes, he will end his career for good. Now NXT Champion Bron Breakker comes out and welcomes Dragunov to NXT for now. However, he clarifies the title would not go anywhere but would remain on his shoulder. McDonagh suggests Breakker and Dragunov might face off for the title and then McDonagh would take his chance. But Breakker doesn’t think much of it, rather he gives McDonagh and Dragunov each a 33⅓% chance of winning, because he wants to defend his title in a triple threat match at “Halloween Havoc”.
Backstage, a brawl between Gallus and Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen is discovered and broken up by several security guards.
Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid appear in a video. They are proud of the attack on Cameron Grimes and make it clear that this was necessary. Grimes rejected their offer several times and so they now had to make an example of this one.
