In a recent conversation with photographer Bill Apter, the wrestling legend, Ricky Steamboat made it clear that would reject an offer from WWE to participate in the big match in January (Royal Rumble). A statement that might be disappointing for many fans of the legacy and caliber of this American fighter.
“Thanks, but no thanks. Yes (the fans would love it). I think it’s too big a stage for me.”
Thus, It seems that Ricky Steamboat is very comfortable retired from the professional wrestling activity. However, as has happened with other characters, a future presence in WWE would not be ruled out, but perhaps on a stage not as big as Royal Rumble.
The most recent we saw of Ricky Steamboat in the ring was the trio match, in which he teamed up with FTR to face Brock Anderson, Jay Lethal and Nick Aldis, during the paid event titled: BTW Return Of The Dragon. Which was held last November, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ricky Steamboat retired from WWE in 2009, when he decided to end his career of more than three decades in sports activity, sealing a historic and successful career for one of the most respected and beloved fighters in the industry.
