WVU Gymnastics Dual Meet Against Kent State – Live Stream and Stats

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University gymnastics team heads back on the road when it travels to Kent, Ohio, on Sunday, Jan. 28, for a dual meet once morest Kent State. Competition inside the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center is tabbed for 1 p.m. ET.

Saturday’s action will be streamed live on BoxCastwith Mike Elkins and Shannon Gallagher on the call. Live stats also are available at WVUsports.com.

West Virginia is 24-9 all-time once morest the Golden Flashes, with the two teams meeting for the first time in WVU’s second season of competition in 1975. The Mountaineers and Penn last met in the 2023 home opener on Jan. 13, in a tri meet with Maryland inside the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown. West Virginia claimed a 195.1-194.475 victory, taking second place in the meet.

Last time out, the Mountaineers posted a final score of 194.85 to finish in second place behind Penn (195.025) in a dual meet inside the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown on Jan. 21. WVU used season-high scores on vault and floor exercise to tally its best home score of the campaign. West Virginia’s 48.975 on floor marked its highest on any event this season, while its 48.925 on vault was a season best. West Virginia also added totals of 48.6 on balance beam and 48.35 on the uneven bars.

Sophomore Emma Wehry tied for first on vault (9.85), followed by senior Kiana Lewis (9.8) and fifth-year Abbie Pierson (9.8) in a tie for third place. On bars, junior Brooke Alban (9.825) secured a second-place finish for her first podium placement of the season. Freshman Julia Brown earned her first career podium finish in second place on beam (9.8), while Lewis (9.775) and freshman Amber Lowe (9.775) tied for third. Lewis (9.875) earned the first-place spot on floor, followed by Pierson (9.825) and freshman Jurnee Lane (9.825) in a tie for second.

In the third week of the Road to Nationals rankings, the Mountaineers rank No. 47 overall following the third weekend of the NCAA Gymnastics season. Leading WVU’s event rankings is the vault lineup, coming in at No. 44 on uneven bars with a season high of 48.925.
