Writers from India will attend the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival

Sharjah: Four writers from India will be attending the 13th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival to be held at the Expo Center from November 11 to 22. Priya Kurian, Purva Grover, Vibha Batra and Sahitya Akademi Award winner Anitha Vacharajani are from India. They will participate in various events.

This time around, 25 top writers from five subcontinents will arrive. The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) is organizing a book festival to guide children into the world of reading with the theme of Creating Creativity.

Writers from all over the world will be participating in various events. Prominent among them is Kyle Balda, an American animator and director who has directed popular children’s films, including Minions, Despicable Me and Jumanji. Australian writer Ken Spielmann (Big Noah Little Boa), Curtis Jobling (Bob the Builder TV show), actor and writer Sebastian Sosa (Kid; A History of the Future), writer and illustrator Vashti Harrison Little (Little), Little , Claire Legrand (Empirium Trilogy), Kobe Yamazada (What do you do with an idea? What do you do with a problem?), Shanda McCloskey, Alicia D. Williams, Ahmad Shah (Pakistan), Miriam Tries (Spain), Jackson (UK), Lorato Mary Trok (South Africa), Christopher Okemwa (Kenya), Ella Berhood (UK), Helen Dokarti, Burhana Islam (Bangladesh), Evgenia Golubeva (Russia), Radia Hafiz and Yasmin Rahman.

12 countries; 139 Publishers

139 publishers from 12 countries, including India, will be enriching the reading festival with their latest books. Another highlight is the 750 workshops run by renowned artists.
