Wrestlers still in 2nd place | sport

Winterthur couldn’t keep up with Rapperswil-Jona in the second half of the season either.

In the lower weight classes, Erik Cetaj and Linus Schwyter won without a fight. In the heavyweight division, Bruno Schnyder made his comeback after six years and only narrowly lost on points. Sascha Schmid then won 16-0 and Levi Eichenberger was also able to celebrate his debut in the team with a win.

Ralf Schwyter, still a bit ailing, defeated his opponent after a short fight and Adrian Rüegg won another four points for the team. At the end, Mischa Lehrich increased the final score to 29:2 for Rapperswil-Jona/Uznach with his shoulder victory by swinging his hips.

Cracknut Kriessern

As in the preliminary round, nothing came together against leader Kriessern. Only Lukas Schwyter and Sascha Schmid were able to finish their fights victoriously. The two, together with Mischa Lehrich, are still undefeated this season. Lukas Schönbächler contributed a point in his defeat and improved the result a little. The Rheintaler second team was out of reach that evening and won 9:23

Taken by surprise by Oberriet-Grabs

The second team from Oberriet-Grabs had been clearly defeated 20:12 in the preliminary round, but that evening the Rosenstadt team had a dark day.

Erik Cetaj lost on his shoulders in the lightweight division before Bruno Schnyder was able to secure a hard-fought point in his defeat against the well-known Bruno Flück in the heavyweight division. Linus Schwyter fought courageously and kept the damage limited to a 6-0 defeat for his team.

Andreas Schnyder recorded a win without a fight before Levi Eichenberger had to leave the mat up to 61 kg with a shoulder defeat, as did Mathias Schnyder up to 77 kg after him. Adrian Rüegg kept the fight open for a long time up to 65 kg and narrowly lost with a score of 6:8. At the end, Alexander Bucher also didn’t want to succeed up to 70 kg, so they lost to Oberriet with 6:23.

Rosenstädter directly behind Leader

Kriessern is still the undefeated leader despite a draw against Einsiedeln. Rapperswil-Jona/Uznach is still in second place, but they have already fought the most battles of all the teams.

Behind it, Weinfelden, Schattdorf, Oberriet and Winterthur are lined up within two points. On Saturday, the wrestlers from the Seeviertel will face the test against their direct pursuers from Weinfelden and Einsiedeln.
