WPT Mexico Open: Paquito/Tello au mental!

Paquito Navarro and Juan Tello will play their second semi-final together this Saturday in Mexico City. Like in Malmöthe Spaniard and the Argentinian got the better of Martin Di Nenno and Coki Nieto.

A Mexico Open in the form of a reunion for several players

And yet nothing was won! Indeed, Di Nenno and Nieto had started the meeting with a bang, leading up to five games to one. Dominated, Navarro and Tello showed a foolproof mind in a first set during which they saved six set points!

But while Coki and Martin seemed dejected by the loss of this round which did not seem to be able to escape them, they resumed their march forward and picked up the score. But the third round will have turned in favor of the players of Martin Etchegaray, who like in Sweden, eliminate the former teammate of the Andalusian and his new partner.

Today, it is this time once morest Juan’s former teammate, Fede Chingotto, and Javi Garrido, that Tello and Navarro will be opposed. Unlike them, Chingotto and Garrido only needed two sets to dismiss Lucas Campagnolo and Jon Sanz (6/2 6/4).

In the other quarter-finals, Alex Ruiz and Momo Gonzalez confirmed their return to form once morest Arroyo / Rubio (6/3 6/3) while Lima and Stupa needed to draw on their reserves to dismiss Capra / Sanchez ( 5/7 6/3 6/4).

The program for the semi-finals

As usual, we will start with the ladies this Saturday with the clash between Salazar / Triay and Ortega / Gonzalez from 2:15 p.m. (9:15 p.m. in France). A meeting which will be followed by the meeting between Sutpaczuk / Lima and Ruiz / Gonzalez.

Short break and return to action at 6.15 p.m. (01.15 a.m. in France) with the second women’s semi-final: Josemaria/Sanchez vs Llaguno/Riera. We will end with the very attractive Navarro / Tello vs Chingotto / Garrido!
