Worse than in Paris, the crazy price of a parking space in Boston

In Boston, a couple have put their sumptuous apartment on Beacon Street up for sale for 9.5 million euros, reports the Wall Street Journal : 370 square meters, four bedrooms and a dazzling view of the Charles River. Above all, the apartment does not include one, but two parking spaces, covered and with valet service.
A more than coveted property in Boston, which regularly experiences snowstorms. In these cases, it is forbidden to park on the main roads and arteries so that snowplows and emergency vehicles can circulate, hence the advantage of having a covered parking space. The owner of the apartment told the American newspaper that she had received offers of up to 677,000 euros for a single place.

Incredible prices recorded in Boston

According to Boston Globe, this isn’t the first time prime parking spots have sold for six-figure prices in Boston. In September 2021, a real estate company sold one for 338,000 euros on West Brookline Street. In 2015, another located in Beacon Hill was listed at more than 586,000 euros. And the list is still long.
For those who can’t afford a covered parking spot at that price, far more affordable “space savers” are also favored by Bostonians during winter storms. The principle: reserve a public parking space cleared with a cone, a chair, or other objects to claim it temporarily.
