World’s second deepest blue hole discovered off coast of Mexico

There are few experiences that can match the slow descent into the inky darkness of a blue hole. At the same time, the seemingly bottomless abysses in the rocks near the coast or reef top are among the most dangerous diving grounds of all. The Blue Hole Dahab off the western Sinai coast, for example, is considered the dive site with the highest number of fatal diving accidents in the world. The Blue Hole is said to have claimed up to 300 lives since the 1980s, and many of the dead have not yet been recovered from the more than 100 meter deep ground.
