Learn some details of the Worlds Qualifying Series 2023
The last spot in the play-in phase of the 2023 Worlds Qualifying Series will go to the winner of the match between the Golden Guardians (LCS) and the 4th seed team in the LEC, which will be held at LOL Park, in Seoul, Korea do Sul, starting at 1am on October 9th in Brazil.
Previously, a new format for Worlds 2023 was announced. As part of this announcement, the Worlds Qualifying Series (WQS) was introduced, where the 4th seed in the LEC and LCS would play in an md5 for the last spot for the play-phase. in do Worlds. Originally the plan was to hold the Worlds Qualifying Series in the USA, but it was decided that the event will take place in South Korea to allow both teams to have as much preparation time as possible in the host country, minimize travel, and be able to play once morest qualified teams from the World Cup before the play-in stage.
The battle between LEC and LCS for the final Worlds spot will take place on October 9 at LoL Park
Golden Guardians will represent the LCS, and the LEC representative will be decided in the League Championship Finals in the first weekend of September. The winner secures their spot at Worlds and the other team is eliminated from contention. The bracket to which the WQS winner will be entered will be played on Day 2 of the Play-In Phase.
