VIENNA – Vienna’s Mariahilf Zoo reported the world’s first successful breeding of desert chameleons on Tuesday. The chameleon, which hails from Namibia and South Africa, is considered particularly demanding in breeding and husbandry, making its offspring a sensation in the animal world. While the babies and mother are still being cared for behind the scenes, one of the fathers can already be seen at the new facility in Namibia.
