Alexander Zverev (Germany), ranked second in the men’s professional tennis (ATP) tour singles ranking, will participate in the Korea Open.

On the morning of the 31st, the Korea Open Tennis Organizing Committee announced that the list of players participating in the 2022 ATP Tour Korea Open to be held at the Olympic Park tennis court in Songpa-gu, Seoul from September 24 to October 2 has been confirmed. Among the top 10 players in the world, three will participate: Zverev, 7th place Kasper Ruud (Norway), and 9th place Cameron Norry (England).

Zverev is a strong contender for the title with the number one seed. He has won 19 titles in his career, placing him first in this category. Tsverev, in particular, won the ATP Finals last year and won a singles gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Rude is on an upward trend this season, winning three wins and taking the runner-up at the French Open at the majors. He has won two this year and has climbed to the top four times in his career with his strong point of aiming without ups and downs.

In addition, Taylor Fritz (12th), who has the highest ranking among US players, Denis Shapovalov (Canada) (21st), and Borna Choric (Croatia) (29th) will participate. Among domestic players, 81st place Kwon Soon-woo (Dangjin City Hall) is the only one to participate. Of the 19 automatic finalists, 18 made it to the tour finals, and 14 of them won the championship at least once. The only player who did not make it to the final of the tour was Marcos Giron (USA), ranked 56th.

The winner of the Korea Open singles will receive 250 ranking points and a prize money of $170,000 (regarding 230 million won). Even if you are eliminated in the first round, you will win $11,900 (16 million won). The total prize money is 1.28 million dollars (1.73 billion won). The Korea Open is held in the ATP 250 series, and is the first ATP tour event held in Korea in 26 years following the KAL Cup Korea Open held from 1987 to 1996.
