“World Utilities Exhibition and Conference hosted by TAQA in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan”

ABU DHABI, 9th May / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, attended part of the activities of the second edition of the World Utilities Exhibition and Conference, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness and hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company “TAQA”. At the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), where this conference is a global platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences in the utilities sector to promote innovative solutions and discuss opportunities to achieve a balance between energy security and sustainability.

During this visit, His Highness toured the various pavilions of the exhibition and met a number of companies specialized in the utilities and energy sector, and was briefed on the latest technological means and innovative solutions in electricity generation, transmission and distribution, clean nuclear energy production, water resources management and water desalination projects to support efforts to reduce carbon emissions and achieve Climate neutrality goals.

His Highness was accompanied during the visit by His Excellency Suhail bin Muhammad Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, His Excellency Engineer Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors Abu Dhabi National Energy Company “TAQA” and CEO of the “holding” – ADQ -, and Jassim Hussein Thabet, Group CEO and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company “TAQA”.

The conference will continue for three days until May 10, to exchange knowledge and experiences and pave the way for important talks and discussions on the utilities and energy sector, in conjunction with the UAE’s preparations to host the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) this year.

The World Utilities Exhibition and Conference attracts energy ministers from around the world, more than 10,000 industry professionals, 1,000 representatives of participating entities, 250 speakers from leading industry experts and 150 exhibiting companies.

While balancing energy security and providing it at reasonable prices at the same time, we believe that this year’s edition of the conference will play a pivotal role in enabling industry leaders and policy makers to collaborate and forge more fruitful partnerships.”

The World Facilities Exhibition and Conference is supported by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Department of Energy in Abu Dhabi, the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, and the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation.
