Dubai: ICC has announced the prize money for the winners of the World Test Championship. India will face Australia in the final which starts on June 7 at the Oval. The first championship had a prize pool of $3.8 million. The winners received $1.6 million from New Zealand. India, the runner-up, also received $800,000. The remaining amount was distributed according to the position in the points table.

This time too there is no change in the prize money. Third place South Africa will receive $450,000. Fourth place England will receive $350,000. 200,000 is Sri Lanka in fifth place. The remaining teams New Zealand (6), Pakistan (7), West Indies (8) and Bangladesh (9) will each receive $100,000.

A part of the Indian team had reached England for the final. Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur and Mohammad Siraj were involved in the training. Coach Rahul Dravid is also in the team. The remaining players will arrive in England after the IPL final. India has come out with a new training kit. In the IPL, players including Kohli, Siraj and Mohammed Shami were in form and Cheteshwar Pooraja had already come to England for county cricket, so Team India is hopeful. Pujara will join the team after a short break after the county matches.
