One of the absolute biggest names in German handball is on his way to Aalborg Handball. Media Bild reports that the North Jutland have agreed with the 23-year-old playmaker Juri Knorr on an agreement, but that it is uncertain when it will come into effect.
National team profile Juri Knorr is under contract with Rhein-Neckar Löwen until the summer of 2026, but an option should make it possible for him to switch as early as 2025.
The arrival of the German head coach Maik Machulla from next season has apparently made a switch to Aalborg Handball so attractive to the countryman that he is ready to leave the world’s strongest league in favor of Nordjylland.
Aalborg Handball is looking for a replacement for Mikkel Hansen, who is retiring this summer, and although Juri Knorr is primarily a playmaker, he is no stranger to playing left back.
In January, Juri Knorr helped to finish fourth at the EC with the German national team.

The question is whether director Jan Larsen can find the big wallet and bring in the German star already this summer. At least the need is there at Aalborg, who at the same time will release many millions in wages when Mikkel Hansen signs off.
Bild has been in contact with Juri Knorr, who has no comment on the media’s information.
However, the German star should be interested in leaving Rhein-Neckar Löwen because he is unhappy with the club’s sporting development. The club is second worst of all in the second half of the Bundesliga.
In addition, he allegedly wants to get away from the star hysteria that has built up around him in Germany.
