In the last few days, a number of media have reported that the World Scout Meeting is in danger because of the heat, and that there is hardly any shade. In addition, the participants were almost eaten by mosquitoes. The British and US delegations have therefore left. How is the mood with you?
Eyes: I have no problem with the heat at all. The only trouble is that you sweat a lot. There are really a lot of mosquitoes in the evening, but if you spray yourself with it, it works.
Spike: It works during the day. Sure, the terrain is flat, there are no trees. But the organizers have set up shadow tunnels, where water is sometimes sprinkled. And we got a fan yesterday to run in the tent at night. In the morning it gets very warm very quickly. But I can sleep well, even though I woke up because of the mosquitoes.
Nivalis: I think the atmosphere is super cool. The children are very motivated and have already made many friends. Today we asked them if they wanted to do something outside of the camp where it’s a bit cooler, but they preferred to stay on site. To be honest, we’re a bit surprised that there’s so much talk regarding the heat. There is enough to drink, enough shaded areas.
