World School Football Championship 2023: Boys’ National Team Finishes Second to France

The boys’ national (B) team finished second by losing to their French counterpart 1-0 in the final of the World School Football Championship (Morocco-2023) on Friday evening at the Prince sports complex. Moulay Abdellah in Rabat.

The only goal of the game was scored by Poor Debbich in additional time of the 1st half (40th + 1). The final was played in two halves of 40 minutes each, while the other matches in the championship were played in two halves of 30 minutes each.

The boys’ Moroccan (B) team, representing the qualifying high school Lalla Salma from Fez, advanced to the final following beating Saudi Arabia (B) 2-1 in the semi-finals on Thursday at Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat.

The French team, for its part, qualified for the final following beating its Croatian counterpart in the semi-finals, which ranked in the 3rd place in this championship.

Morocco, as the organizing country, was represented at this championship by 4 teams, 2 girls’ teams and 2 boys’ teams.

For girls, the world championship school football (Morocco-2023) was won by the Chinese team (A) who beat the Chinese team (B) in the final by 2 goals to 1.

At the end of the final Morocco (B) – France, the first three teams of this championship received their medals, while the Cup was given to the French team in the presence in particular of the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, the president of the International School Sports Federation (ISF), Laurent Petrynka, and the vice-president of the International School Sports Federation, Youssef Belqasmi.

On this occasion, the medals and the Cup were also awarded to the girls’ school football teams.
