The Cóndores 7’s got off to a great start in the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series, in Santiago, with wins over Georgia and Papua New Guinea
The Condors 7’s started off on the right foot this Friday his participation in the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Seriesin Santiago, a contest that takes place at the Santa Laura Stadium.
The host team only added wins in their first two confrontations, so they lead their area. They first beat Georgia 19-14 in a great game and then beat Papua New Guinea 24-7 with authority.
Now, the national squad will meet on Saturday with South Korea starting at 2:46 p.m.
Chile is part of Group A. Regarding the other zones, Hong Kong, Tonga, Jamaica and Zimbabwe make up Group B, while Germany, Uruguay, Uganda and Lithuania are in Group C.
Remember that Chilean rugby 7 will dress up next September. The national team will be part of the ‘Cape Town 2022’ World Cup, in South Africa, an event for which they qualified last November when the Latin American team of Costa Rica finished second.
Chile will have its second consecutive World Cup participation. The winner of the competition will secure a place for the upcoming World Rugby Seven Series in 2023.
