World Record Speedrunner Sets Unbelievable Time in Baldur’s Gate III: Full Run in Just 10 Minutes 3 Seconds

Speedrunner Mae set the world speed record for Baldur’s Gate III twice in two days. It turns out that the credits of a large-scale game can be reached in 10 minutes 3 seconds. His previous record was not so much different: 10 minutes 52 seconds. For the record-breaking run, Mae used Gale with enhanced jumping and stealth. He took Shadowheart to his company, whose spell allows you not to get involved in tedious battles. This allowed the player not to abuse the bugs: with the help of game errors, he only overcame the goblin camp and leaked into the final dungeon of the second act. Game connoisseurs will easily determine that Mae did not even get to the third act, instead using one of the possible endings (spoiler!): embodied Mitra’s intention. This is also achievable in a normal playthrough, although players usually choose to take a different path. The player used only those dialogues that are mandatory for passing. For example, Gale will die at the entrance to the Moon Towers if she doesn’t progress on her quest. He also took part only in those battles that provided the experience pool for the Mist Step skill. Baldurs Gate 3, meanwhile, shared the title of best PC game on Metacritic with Disco Elysium, and players secured a new attendance record for it: over 875,000 Steam users.
