The tour of the Argentine Minister of Security, Patrica Bullrich, in El Salvador has been taken up and applauded by international media, which highlight how the “Bukele” Model has become an inspiration for the world.
Bullrich’s visit to El Salvador included a tour of the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), a mega-prison that houses dangerous MS-13 and 18 gang members, who for years have caused mourning and pain in the people.
The international press has given special coverage to Bullrich’s tour, which included meetings with El Salvador’s Security Cabinet, as well as with the popular Salvadoran President, Nayib Bukele.
Media in Spain, Argentina, Holland, Guatemala, Brazil, Peru, Europe, among others, highlight the successful Salvadoran security plan, and it has also inspired politicians who aspire to elected office in the United States, Mexico, Uruguay, etc.
One of the most recent decisions of the Argentine government was the hiring of the expert in the “Bukele” model, Alejandra Monteoliva, as a security advisor. She worked on the successful plan that made El Salvador go from being the most dangerous country to the safest in the Western Hemisphere.
Monteoliva has extensive experience in the fight against organized crime and violence. She has been Minister of Security of Córdoba and National Director of Operations in Bullrich’s Ministry. She has recently worked as a security consultant for the United Nations.
The government of Argentine President Javier Milei has shown special interest in the entire structure that allowed El Salvador to “drastically” lower its violence rates, despite the fact that not long ago it was dominated by the MS-13 and 18 gangs.
The Argentine official learned of the loopholes in the law that have allowed Salvadoran authorities to avoid violating the legal framework established in the Constitution of the Republic, despite the fact that the country is under a Regime of Exception that allows the immediate capture of criminals.
