World of Tanks Publisher Leaves Russia Completely: “Expect Significant Revenue Loss”

Wargaming, the developer and publisher of World of Tanks and World of Warships, has announced it is leaving Russia and Belarus. The reason is “a strategic review of global business activities.”

In a new one opinion Wargaming announces that the management of the live service in Russia and Belarus has already been transferred to Lesta Studio effective March 31, 2022. The publisher himself is then no longer responsible for his games in the two countries.

During the transition period, the products will continue to be available through the new owner. However, Lesta Studio has no affiliation with Wargaming. So no profits flow from Lesta Studio to Wargaming

It is therefore assumed that “significant sales losses” will be the result. In addition, the studio in Minsk is currently being closed. However, Wargaming promises affected employees “the highest level of support”.

MeinMMO has already contacted Wargaming. The studio does not want to make any further statements or answer in-depth questions at this time.
