World Mental Health Day Forum: Promoting Mental Health as a Universal Human Right – King Abdulaziz University

The Dean of the College of Education at King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Ali Najmi, will inaugurate the day following tomorrow, Tuesday, October 10, the first World Mental Health Day Forum, which is organized by the College’s Psychology Department under the slogan “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right,” with the participation of more than 100 male and female specialists, in addition to academics and students specializing in psychological sciences.

The head of the Psychology Department at the College of Education, Dr. Abdul-Ilah Al-Qarni, confirmed that the forum, which coincides with World Mental Health Day, is part of the community participations that the department is keen to present to all segments of society to contribute to raising public awareness of mental health issues, improving the lifestyle of the individual and family, and building a society whose members enjoy a lifestyle. Balanced to contribute to enhancing the quality of life in line with the nation’s Vision 2030

Dr. Al-Qarni pointed out that the forum, in which a number of sponsoring sectors of civil society institutions in the private sector will participate, will include many specialized lectures and awareness-raising initiatives through a pavilion with multiple scientific topics and psychological studies, in addition to dialogue and discussion between specialists, academics and academies in the field of psychology to spread awareness and Enriching the scientific experience of students and attendees regarding everything related to mental health and explaining how important it is to integrate their mental and physical health to continue giving in the service of religion and the nation in light of the continued prosperity and development that our nation is experiencing in all aspects of life with the support of the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince.

Dr. Al-Qarni thanked the Dean of the College of Education for his sponsorship of the forum, appreciating at the same time the unlimited support that the college’s employees receive from the acting president of the university.
